Patricia Shone Winter Wood Firing

A short film to give a glimpse into the firing of my small fast fire wood kiln on the Isle of Skye. In the winter of 2021 local film maker Winnie Brook Young followed me through the long hours of preparing, stoking and opening the kiln. The slow but intense process is the final stage in the creation of my pots. The weather plays a big role. It gives me the chance to contemplate the ever changing landscape, which is particularly beautiful in the Northern winter light.
