This point is made from heat treated Buffalo River chert. The real ones were mostly made from raw chert or flint. The weight of the finished point (1/2 oz.) compared to the original chunk of stone (5-5/8 oz.) is 9%, and is 22% of the “trade blank“ (2-1/4 oz.).
