Klaus Nomi - Death - Dido’s Lament

Death is a song from Klaus Nomi’s second album, Simple Man which is a remake of the aria Dido’s Lament from the Opera Dido and Æneas by Henry Purcell. Just an incredible version. This really shows off Klaus’s amazing countertenor voice. lyrics: Recitative Thy hand, Belinda, darkness shades me, On thy bosom let me rest, More I would, but Death invades me; Death is now a welcome guest. Aria When I am laid, am laid in earth, May my wrongs create No trouble, no trouble in thy breast; Remember me, remember me, but ah! forget my fate. Remember me, but ah! forget my fate. The first portrait used in this montage was taken by George DuBose.
