Queer Playmates (1933)

“Did you ever take a dip with an alligator? It’s great sport according to these youngsters who insist on a “piggy back“ ride with their water friend.“ Two children sit on the back of an alligator. The alligator has a rope around its muzzle and is presumably being pulled along. A crowd of people watch. The child on the front hits the alligator and it sprawls on the ground (a bit cruel really). The alligator crawls into a pond with the children still on its back. Two other children sit on the edge of the pond splashing their feet around. Another child gets on the alligator’s back. Even the youngest of the children is not afraid.“ A baby sits on its back. The baby pats the alligator. “You just can’t keep these alligators away from the water.“ High angle shot of two alligators running up a flight of steps and sliding down a slide (this is actually rather funny!) They slide off the bottom and into the pool where children splash around. Was an item in Eve’s Film Review issue number 651. FI
