Ramathipadi I/Sultan Ibrahim (Cambodia vs Dutch VOC)

Ramathipadi I (Khmer: រាមាធិបតីទី១), also known as Ponhea Chan (Khmer: ពញាចន្ទ ) or Sultan Ibrahim (Jawi: سلطان إبراهيم) as the King of Cambodia (Kambuja) between 1642–1658. He led the Cambodian–Dutch War (Dutch: Cambodjaans-Nederlandse Oorlog; Khmer: សង្គ្រាមកម្ពុជា-ហូឡង់) from 1643–1644 to keep the neutrality of Cambodia against European commercial interest notably trade conflict between declining Catholic Portuguese Empire and the rising Protestant Dutch Company. VOC was defeated twice by Cambodians and their allies between 1643 and 1644 at commercial city of Phnom Penh. With the Cambodians suffering 1,000 dead, and the Dutch forces suffering 156 dead out of 432 soldiers n addition multiple Dutch warships fell into Cambodian hands. It was not until two centuries later that European influence in Cambodia could recover from the defeat inflicted on the Dutch.
