Fool’s Gambit - SYZYGY (Full Album 2021)

SYZYGY (2021) Fool’s Gambit is a three piece band out of Umeå, northern Sweden. Their debut release, SYZYGY, emerges from an esoteric approach to rock n roll, where influences are drawn from a multitude of genres. Elements of jazz and progressive rock appear out of psychedelic haziness. Drums navigate the tunes with intense complexity, bass both carry and embellish, guitar both screams and soothes. Vocals channel blues vibe, punk intensity and hip hop rhyme schemes. The skeleton of the album is recorded in live takes where the band is free to stay disciplined within tight organization over changing time signatures while still retaining the ability to communicate musically in the manner that is required to float away into jams.
