Don Dixon - Southside Girl TopPop

Don Dixon (born December 13, 1950) is a record producer, songwriter, musician, bass guitarist, and very occasional actor. Dixon is considered to be one of the key producers of what is called the jangle pop movement of the early 1980s. In 1985, success as a producer led to Dixon’s solo debut ’Most of the Girls Like to Dance’, a collection of early demos. This album reflected his love of classic pop melodies and spiky, Nick Lowe-inspired word play. Two singles of this album reached the Dutch charts: ’Praying Mantis’ reached # 17 in the Dutch Tipparade December 1985. and the second single, his composition ’Southside Girl’ was recorded by Toppop on 31 January 1986.
