NAU PD 08/16

Upon switching to another Dorm room. I had expressed permission to go another DORM earlier than normal check in time. Because my understanding was that this was earlier than Normal check in time... I did not understand what the proper process of switching Dorm rooms was. This is only my second semester here at NAU. Inevitably, I went to the Dorm and found the door to be open with a post it on the door that says “Checked out.“ This led me to believe that everyone was checked out and because the door was open I thought it was left open for me. I moved my things in early and fell asleep. When I awoke the janitorial staff did not expect to see me in the room. They did not make an attempt to communicate with me. They instantly called the police. The manager on duty can be seen saying that she thought I was weird the day before because I was walking into the lobby to get water. She can be seen mocking me right in front of the officers. This is the altercation
