Churi is a traditional Punjabi dessert/sweet dish. Traditionally made with fresh hot roti by crumbling it with ghee and jaggery, you can also add nuts. Loved by children & adults, in olden days churi was prepared by hand and no other ingredient except the ones mentioned here were added.
Maize Flour – 1 Cup
Oil for Greasing
Jaggery – 4-5 tbsp
Chopped Cashew Nuts – 2 tbsp
Raisin – 1 tbsp
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Method
1. Take 1 cup of Makai flour in a bowl, and add Luke warm water to prepare dough.
2. Once the dough is ready wrap it with muslin cloth for 15 minutes.
3. Spread a plastic sheet, grease it with oil & divide the dough in equal portion.
4. Take one portion and shape it into a ball, flatten the ball, place it on the plastic sheet and press it in the shape of roti.
5. Place the rotis on a preheated tawa and keep flipping simultaneously.
6. Take the rotis in a bowl and crush and keep aside.
7. In the tawa roast the cashew nuts, raisins and remove in a bowl.
8. Add jaggery, ghee, cashew nuts, raisins to
