Automated fastening with KUKA robot KR AGILUS and Atlas Copco system
Small and fast robots such as the KR AGILUS are not only key players in material handling, but are also widely used in the world of electronics. The KR4 AGILUS robot combines a compact design with high accuracy. With a payload of 4 kg and a reach of 600 mm, it works reliably and precisely with very short cycle times.
In the tightening application, KUKA technology has been combined with Atals Copco technology. Specifically, the KR4 takes the screws from a dispenser and tightens them on a panel by calling up the relevant program from Atlas Copco’s MT Focus 6000 controller. It is then checked that the screwing process has been successful according to the parameters set in the Atlas Copco controller program.
In addition to the renewed mechanical part, the control part is also new: the KRC5 micro. Much more compact than its predecessor, it occupies 70% less volume and can be inserted into a cabinet in various mounting positions. Although smaller than its predecessor, it contains all the features of its predece
