Antique Firefighter Helmet Restoration

We would like to thank you in advance for 22:19 minutes of your time. In today’s episode we will show the renovation of an old historical fire helmet from the First Republic. Apparently commander :) The helmet is made of leather with metal peak and brass trim. Other decoration is made of brass. This helmet was sent to me for renovation. Some of the history: Some foundation of the fire brigade can be found already in ancient Rome. The local fire brigade consisted of about 500 slaves. Then the fire expertise was forgotten and in the case of fires all the inhabitants of the towns participated in extinguishing. However, new fire-fighting measures were also developed, one of the most important being the separation of the kitchen from the main part of the building.
