The Jayfolk were based in Truro, Cornwall in the late sixties. They were close friends with Roger Taylor and played as support to his band ’The Reaction’. They included Jill Johnson, Taylor’s girlfriend who later sang with the Famous Jug Band, and Sue Johnstone who started the Queen Fan Club and provided accommodation to Queen when they played in Cornwall. The other members heard on this EP are Penny North, who made the recording in 1968, and Josie James. The band and their relationship with Roger Taylor is discussed in the book ’Queen in Cornwall’ by Rupert White.
