Libreswan is an Internet Key Exchange (IKE) daemon. Its origins can be traced to FreeS/WAN in the 90’s, and at some point in that history it was running on the BSDs.
But that was all some time ago.
Using IKEv2 as a reference point, this discussion will first look at how Libreswan’s code base has had to evolve to meet modern challenges and workloads, and second how that much changed code base has been revived on NetBSD.
