Jaydee Amrita @ Tribal Fest 13 : Kali Dance

Jaydee has been dancing for two and a half years, mostly self-taught in tribal fusion, learning ATS with Kelley Beeston with no previous dance experience and is a member of Kalash tribal, a FatChanceBellydance sister studio. She is a student of Bharatanatyam (a foremost Classical Indian Dance style) under the private tutelage of Shakuntala from the dance lineage of guru Balashetra, of the Kalashetra branch/school. It was her debut at Tribal est 13: Halfway to Halloween. True to this years theme, she danced as the Hindu goddess Kali who is time and space itself. the skulls which adorn Kali represent the cutting way of ego’s. Kali may be fierce and terrifying in representation, but with understanding it is seen that only the ego should have fear of her destructive powers, which hold the seed for renewel and true light, for light can only be seen from the darkness. She looks forward to returning to Tribal Fest next herself!!!
