After Ramadam, Muharram is the holiest month of the Muslim calendar. Fighting is prohibited and people wear black to mourn the death of Imam Hussein bin Ali حسين بن علي بن أﺑﻲ طالب‎ . Imam Hussein was brutally murdered in Karbala, Iraq, 1,300 years ago. It was filmed in a congregational hall known as a Hussainia, in the city of Yazd, which is the oldest continuously inhabited city on earth (7000 years old). The ceremony lasted three hours.
