FERNGULLY: A Weirdly Scary (and Horny?) Animated Classic

FERNGULLY: THE LAST RAINFOREST (1992) is an environmentally focused animated film from an independent studio. It’s also a perfect example of the weird children’s media that sprang forth in the 90s. FernGully is both terrifying and unexpectedly horny. Particularly Tim Curry’s villain, Hexxus. Which is typical of a Tim Curry villain. But not a children’s movie. This movie also starred the voice talents of Robin Williams, in the role Disney tried to get him to quit. FernGully is definitely a nostalgia classic. Please don’t remake it.
