An Egyptian policeman shot and killed two Israeli soldiers who were manning a guard post near the border on June 3. The IDF said hours later there was further exchange of fire inside Israeli territory, in which the gunmen and another IDF soldier was killed. The Israeli military is probing how the Egyptian policeman had managed to cross the border.
