Xiu Xiu takes on ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man”

ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man,” a track from the band’s 1983 album, Eliminator, has been covered to death. Brad Paisley has covered the song, Weird Al has parodied it, and even Nickelback once performed the song live. So when Xiu Xiu chose it for its Undercover, they knew they had to bring something new to the song, and that’s exactly what they did. The group brought some of its experimental flair to the track with a great drum accompaniment, breathing new life into the song. Xiu Xiu’s latest record, Forget, is out now on Polyvinyl Records.
