A Dennerlein Clip for Guitar Fans

This is an encore performance of the great jazz standard PENT UP HOUSE by Sonny Rollins. This version could be called PENT UP HOUSE ON FIRE! It is a smokin’ hot performance, Andy Sheppard is up first with a fine solo, followed by Barbara’s favorite guitarist, Mitch Watkins. They met back in the 80s when both were recording for the label ENJA. Musically, she and Mitch clicked immediately and Mitch would go on to play on many of her albums. When the great Friedrich Gulda formed his Paradise Band, he asked Barbara to play for him, and when he asked for her advice about the right guitarist she suggested Mitch Watkins. It was an All Star Band, search clips on the LOFT Music Channel. If they didn’t live on different continents Mitch and Barbara would still be playing and recording together.
