Foxtrot rosyjski: “Tańcz Maszka, tańcz !“ Mieczysław Fogg
Not only tango, as a kind of popular music was in fashion in Poland in pre-war times; modern rhythms of jazzy origin arrived in the country on Vistula river as a storm wave -- in 30’s most popular were foxtrots. A special sub-kind, if I can called it that way , were foxtrots with “Russian air“, mostly composed by Russian musicians living for many reasons outside their home country. “Tańcz Maszka, tańcz !“ (Dance Mashka, dance) was composed by Oskar Strock and gained great popularity in Poland; present recording was made in Polish by M. Fogg with Ivo Wesby Orchestra. -
