Свинцовво-серый пегий канюк/Plumbeous hawk (Cryptoleucopteryx plumbea)

We are going over hundreds of clips recovered from several camera traps that were set-up at our reserve. So far one of the most amazing footage belongs to a pair of Plumbeous hawks (Cryptoleucopteryx plumbea). This is one of the rarest forest-hawks in Ecuador and it is now listed as Vulnerable under IUCN Red List due to habitat loss. This superb species is only seen in well-preserved forests and it feeds on a variety of snakes, lizards, ground snails and even fresh water crustaceans. In the footage, the pair seems to be curious about a piece of meat that we set-up to attract bigger cats. We will add a new clip by the end of each day.
