Paradiddle orchestration

Paradiddle is among many drummer’s favourite rudiments and the ways you can play it are endless. Here’s one fun example how you can move the single paradiddle around the kit with 16th note pulse. Only thing that separates this pattern from the basic paradiddle rudiment is that the second single stroke is accented also. I recommend to practice the basic pattern with the two accents on a snare drum or a pad before going for the full kit orchestrations. These variations also work really well played individually as a drum fill. Notations at the end of video. Have fun exploring the ways of the paradiddle! -Tuomo
