Rochdale Grooming Gangs: How Disgusting Network Is STILL Attacking Vulnerable Young Girls

A recent review spanning from 2004 to 2013 has exposed the horrifying truth of how vulnerable young girls in Rochdale were left at the mercy of pedophile grooming gangs due to a lack of action from Greater Manchester Police and council bosses. The 173-page report identifies 96 men who are still considered a potential risk to children, with most of them yet to face prosecution. The girls, some as young as 12, were given drugs and alcohol and subjected to rape in rooms above takeaway shops. Despite the efforts of a few brave individuals to alert the authorities, those in positions of power failed to intervene. This article delves into the failures of the system, ongoing concerns, and the need for accountability. To delve into the grooming gangs scandal this week former Met Detective Peter Bleksley is joined by President of the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers; Peter Garsden, Marlon West whose daughter was a victim of sexual exploitation in Manchester, and former Detective Constable with the Greater Manchester Police; Maggie Oliver. The main failing identified in the report was the deliberate decision by those in power to not allocate resources for investigating and prosecuting these pedophiles. Former police officer Maggie Oliver, who was involved in the case, highlights that this decision was inexcusable, as officers take an oath to uphold the law, protect the vulnerable, and do their best to fulfil these duties. The report emphasises that these were systemic failures, but individuals at the top were responsible for the lack of action. Oliver calls for accountability and demands that those who deliberately turned away from these children face consequences. Sadly, the concerns raised in the report are not a thing of the past. Marlon, a parent whose daughter recently fell victim to grooming, shares his harrowing experience. Despite supposed improvements in Rochdale, his daughter was found in a property with men and drugs, despite not even living in the area. When the police discovered her, they arrested her on intent to supply drugs, although she didn’t have any on her. Strikingly, none of the men involved have been charged, despite their involvement in the crime. Marlon reveals that his daughter had gone missing multiple times before, and she had been subjected to rape and assault during those incidents.
