Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez have inaugurated India’s first private military aircraft plant, a milestone in India’s defense and aerospace ambitions. The Tata Aircraft Complex, based in Vadodara, will manufacture Airbus C-295 military transport aircraft in collaboration with Airbus Spain. The project, worth $2.5 billion, will see Tata Advanced Systems Ltd produce 40 aircraft locally, aiming to deliver the first India-made C-295 by 2026. These aircraft will enhance the Indian air force’s reach, capable of transporting troops to remote locations and assisting with medical evacuations and disaster response.
