There are 3 different kind of installation media Artix currently provides: base, graphical and community. Unless you really know your way around Linux, use a graphical or community edition. The base installation can be performed from within any ISO; this may prove useful to people who have trouble getting their wireless network cards to work or for any reason need an active graphical environment during installation. You can also install a different init system than that of the installation medium. Read our fine wiki. And read the description for each category. Base ISOs allow for a fully customised installation, which is done in a TTY and is intended for knowledgeable users. This is the recommended way of installing Artix and the team will be happy to support any issue. An almost identical lowmem version found at the testing section below, can boot and install on machines with as little as 300MB of RAM. Graphical installation images come with a slightly preconfigured desktop system (LXQt, LXDE, MATE, Cinnamon, KDE/Plasma, XFCE) and a rudimentary set of applications: a file manager, media player (mpv), network manager, document viewer, web browser and the calamares installer. People afraid of the Linux terminal or in need of a quick, intuitive installation would want this ISO. This is still a bare-bones installation and a lot of additional software is required for a satisfactory experience. The community ISO images are created by individual Artix developers and come in 2 flavours: GTK and Qt. The main environment is MATE and KDE/Plasma respectively, but they also provide LXDE and LXQt as lightweight alternatives. These images contain a complete set of applications for general desktop use, especially KDE/Plasma. Recommended for users that want a fully preconfigured desktop that Just Works™ and/or are too busy to set it up themselves. If you cannot decide which installation ISO is for you, then use one of these, as they even feature a graphical package manager. 0:00 Intro 0:04 Title 0:09 BOOT MENU 0:37 Welcome Screen 0:49 Setting The Display 1:31 System Monitor Before Running Any Anything 2:41 Website To Download And For Info 4:01 All These Apps Comes Preinstalled 4:23 About Info 4:50 All Desktop Features 5:28 Running All Apps For Info And Versions 7:14 Installation Process 8:22 Subscribe For Two Videos Daily 10:00 System Monitor After Running All The Things #artix #artixlinux #archlinux #linuxkernel #linuxdistro Todays Video - Artix Linux 20230306!
