Italmusic’84 - L’Italiano- Toto Cutugno 1983

Another Italmusic’84 perennial favourite. When Toto wrote the song he had Adriano Celentano in mind but il tiramolla Italiano was not impressed with the tune but eventually the tragedy turned into success. Mr. Cutugno recorded the song and entered it in the 1983 Sanremo Song Contest gaining a reputable 5th place from the winner Tiziana Rivale’s “Sara’ quel che sara“. L’Italiano topped the Italian charts for many weeks, recorded in many languages and is accepted as the Italian National Anthem world wide by Italian expatriates. Italmusic’84 Melbourne’s premier Italgish radio programme is presented by the Captain . Video production Bob Allnutt.
