The lyrical themes portray life and epic poetry. The band primarily performs a Melodic Death Metal but also incorporates Elements of Heavy, Atmospheric Black and occasionally Doom Metal. Derived from the Greek “aster“ (Αστέρι) meaning for “Star“, Asterean is a proper name refering to an entity, an Ocean Guardian and Atlantean rescuer. Enlivened by Renan Brito, former and Mastermind behind the Music foundry, the band counts on the companion old members of Espera XIII, Eduardo Ayres (Bass), Rubstein Wilker (Vocals) and Fernando H. (Drums). Sovereign was produced between August 2023 and February 2024 independently. The EP mixes Azure and Cosmorama concepts in its lyrics, covering themes such as cosmology and greek mythology. The most recent “For The Queen“ is the one that most resembles the concept of Cosmorama, where it invites us to feel that mythological place. Sovereign is a set of songs composed during the Azure EP period (2020), with the exception of “For The Queen“ which is more recent. Azure was supposed to be an album but it was cut in half and I don’t even remember why. Now these songs will see sunlight completing their cycle and that is why this work represents the resolution of a phase. At the same time it is a liberation, the path is now clear to explore new endeavours. All for the Queen “Sovereign“ is second EP from the band!
