Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) include percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) with or without stent insertion. Primary indications are treatment of: Angina pectoris (stable or unstable), Myocardial ischemia and Acute myocardial infarction (particularly in patients with developing or established cardiogenic shock).
Radionuclide imaging uses a special detector (gamma camera) to create an image following injection of radioactive material. This test is done to evaluate: Coronary artery disease (CAD), Cardiac valvular disorders, Congenital cardiac disorders, Cardiomyopathy and Other cardiac disorders.
