Glinka’s opera “Ruslan and Ljudmila“. Recorded in 1907. The opera is based on the poem of the same name by Alexander Pushkin (1820). The Russian libretto was written by V. Shirkov, N. Kukolnik and N. Markevich, among others. A. Pushkin’s death in the duel prevented him from writing the libretto himself as planned. Act 4. Ljudmila has been abducted by Chernomor, a flying dwarf.
