Këkkreëh (France) — Par-delà les souffles du froid « Breoëh » — 2022 full length

The first album of this French solo act. This record seems to get closer to the approach of the debut EP, that has a bigger synth presence injecting powerful necrotic ambient textures to the black metal that sometimes just becomes a quite light, drumless and just the guitar tremolo is in the foreground. Still there are always the vocals, ghastly and powerful, as if a dark entity calling you to cross over to the nether land. There are also tracks that follow mainly just dark ambient structure, such as the third and sixth. My favourite tracks are the second and fourth, that seem to juggle better both genres and manage to create nice peaks of intensity.
