Then, as I was adding the harmonies I was trying to channel the vibe of how they would sound if it was part of George Benson’s “Breezin’“ album. Breezin’ was written by Bobby Womack. Thought I’d put that out there, as I don’t think a lot of people know. I made a conscious effort to keep my solo minimalist as a foil to Daniel’s (the pianist.) I wanted to see how much I could say with just a few notes. I like how it ended up taking the song in a whole new emotional direction.
