Red-breasted sapsucker / Красногрудый дятел-сосун / Sphyrapicus ruber

This Red-breasted Sapsucker (Sphyrapicus ruber) was discovered feeding on sap from an oak tree. The next day when I went to photograph this bird, he or she was opening up an old row of sap wells farther up the tree from the previous day.
