Arthur Forattini plays GAROTO - Choro Triste No.2

“Aníbal Augusto Sardinha (1915 - 1955), popularly known as Garoto, was the first guitar player to propose a new rhythmic pattern to play “samba“, and he introducted sophisticated harmonies in his arrangements and composition, creating the elements of a new Brazilian music that would be internationally known in the 60’s as bossa nova. In 1953, Garoto was the first brazilian guitarist to play at the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro. He performed Radamés Gnattali’s Concertino No.2 for guitar and orchestra.“ This video was recorded in 22/02/2020.
