Hottentotta Hottentotta Care & Husbandry

The Hottentotta Hottentotta or alligator back scorpion is from Africa. These scorpions grow to about 2.5 inches. Keep them in a simple desert set up. Mine is a great eater. They will eat small crickets, mealworms and roaches, What interesting about these scorpions is that they are parthenogenetic. Which means even unfertilized eggs develop into embryos so a male is not needed. They share their genotype with the mother and therefore are all female.
