Arondir and Bronwyn Suite | The Rings of Power (Original Soundtrack) by Bear McCreary

Prior to the show coming out, Arondir was the subject of a LOT of criticism and sadly some vitriol, but for me and many others he ended up being one of the better characters in the show, and even though his romance with Bronwyn was fairly standard and not delved into as much as I wish, it was sweet nonetheless. The theme of Arondir and Bronwyn is a beautiful love theme, with the plucking of a harp and a string ostinato usually setting the atmosphere. Their theme is usually played on flutes and oboe, but while being romantic and sweeping it is also very somber and mournful, as if relationship between the elf and human is doomed to fail. Female singing and Quenya choir is used to portray the plights of the two partner’s journies, with brass and heroic orchestration backing up Arondir’s actions throughout the series. However, the theme is still a love theme at it’s core, and as such is still rife with feelings of passion, tragedy, and romance all the same.
