WHIRLY BIRD | Stephanie Trick & Paolo Alderighi

Count Basie and his band recorded an explosively swinging album in 1957, with arrangements by Neal Hefti, entitled “The Atomic Mr. Basie.” The collaboration of Hefti and Basie was quite fruitful, as Hefti knew exactly how to put the band and its top-flight soloists in the best possible light (in this case, Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis on tenor sax). We have been wanting to adapt the breathless and driving big band chart of “Whirly Bird” to four-hands piano for a long time and are happy to present this version. ▶️ If you enjoyed this video, please subscribe to our channel! ▶️ If you like the music we play (four-hands piano, classic jazz, stride piano, swing, blues, boogie woogie, ragtime, and the Great American Songbook), please visit us here: ▶️ Subscribe to our newsletter: 🔶 Become part of our Patreon family! 🔶 Learn about the different benefits here: Thank you so much for watching! ✨
