私の好きな天安門 (日本語版) - I Love Beijing’s Tiananmen (Japanese Version)

A Japanese version of a Chinese song written during the Cultural Revolution. With lyrics written by a primary schooler, it has come to be one of the most well-known children’s songs in China. In English-speaking spaces, the name is often mistranslated as “I Love Beijing Tiananmen“. The song has an interesting history in Japan, in that sometimes a completely original third stanza would also be sung at the end: 「天安門に 昇る赤い太陽 我等導き 勝利へ進む」 “Over Tiananmen Rises red sun, Leading us Marching to victory!“ Additionally, at the beginning of the Cultural Revolution, an alternate set of lyrics was also used which invoked the Red Guards: 「僕等は慕う 北京の天安門 天安門に 太陽昇る
