Harald Foss - Gange-Rolv

Artists: Harald Foss, Lasse Stang, Stein Villa The song is about Gange-Rolv(“Rolv the Walker“), son of the Norwegian earl/jarl Ragnvald “Mørejarl“. Gange-Rolv is also known as Rollo. After he was banished from Norway for raiding inland by Harald Hårfagre, he went to France and raided there. Eventually the French king gave him his daughter in marriage and the dukedom of Normandy to stop him from attacking Paris-region. He was called Gange(walker)-Rolv because he is supposed to have been so big no horse could carry him. Painter: Anders Kvåle Rue
