A head constable of the Jammu and Kashmir Police was killed, and an assistant sub-inspector was injured during an ongoing encounter with terrorists in the remote village of Kog-Mandli, located in Kathua district. The encounter began around 5:30 PM yesterday, following intelligence reports that indicated terrorists were hiding in a house. Security forces launched a joint cordon and search operation, employing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to track the militants. The initial exchange of gunfire was brief but later intensified, leading to heavy firing from both sides. The area has been cordoned off, and reinforcements have been deployed from nearby security camps.
