Full title reads: “WOMEN PROTEST AT FOOD CUTS“. Various. At Ilford Town Hall, Mrs Watts, chairman of the Women’s Ratepayers Association addresses the gathering. Vice-Chairman Miss Austin frames a resolution protesting at the food cuts (natural sound). Audience composed exclusively of women. Mrs Lovelock, originator of the anti-queue movement, leads protest march against the food cuts to office of the Ministry of Food. Land Army girls parade at Bedford before Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II). At UNO meeting at Central Hall, Westminster, world famine is the subject for statements given by several delegates: Ernest Bevin (UK), Edward Stettinius (USA), Beasley (Australia), Wellington Koo (China), Gromyko (USSR) and Senator Connally (US).
