Altra Lone Peak 8 First Impressions – Comparison to Lone Peak 7 and 6

After 300 miles on the Lone Peak 7s, I can say that they were a good shoe. They were comfortable and did not fail on me. The uppers are a smidge tight across the middle top of the foot, which could be an issue for some. The tread wore well, they drained well, and dried fast. Good news is that the 8s are nearly identical to the 7s, with some minor good changes in my opinion. The uppers have a little more room where the 7s were tight, there are holes in the tabs for the center lace points, and the material appears to have better breathability. They weigh the same as well, at 320 grams each. Oh, and the laces are longer. I ordered mine from Run Moore in MD: The color is TAN.
