Tamiya’s Lockheed P-38G Lightning in 1/48 scale is an excellent model. Already out of the box you get a very good overall package. The accuracy of fit and quality of the parts leaves nothing to be desired.
I was always amazed at how the developers implemented the complex shapes of the P-38 in the model. Nevertheless, I added some extras to the kit. Resin parts, custom decals and an Eduard Löök set for the cockpit enhance the model.
As usual, Tamiya is very economical when it comes to showing the rivets. There are other brands which show more details. So I re-riveted large parts especially on the top.
I put the focus again on a detailed chipping and weathering to get a realistic color scheme that corresponds to the climatic conditions of the Pacific War.
Now enjoy the build paint and weathering process on my Pacific Lightning. If you like the video please leave a like or/and comment. Regards ScalerDan
