Cork, Ireland ( Eire ). M/S of a large tug chugging slowly into harbour - MacSwiney’s coffin lies on the deck. Panning L/S of the docks - vast hoards of people have turned up to show their respects, people are even dangling from the rigging of a fishing boat. M/S of children playing near military vehicles. Good M/S of two armed soldiers under a tree. M/S of three officers, standing on the front of an armed car, saluting. Various high angled L/S of the funeral cortege winding down crowd lined streets - the coffin is draped in a Republican flag. M/S of a bishop / cardinal waving incense over the coffin as it is laid to rest in the ground. Lots of shots of choristers, choir boys and priests processing into a Cathedral. M/S of armed soldiers in standing guard at the edge of the road, pan to mourner’s horse drawn carriages passing. M/S of an armed car passing a crowd of mourners.
