Why Performing On The World’s Largest Lake Stage Is So Difficult

This summer, the largest lake stage in the world will host one of the most famous Italian operas: a production of Giacomo Puccini’s “Madame Butterfly“ with a very special stage design. Canadian stage designer Michael Levine has designed a gigantic painted sheet of paper with a warped surface that rises, almost weightless, above Lake Constance — a challenge especially for those who are to play and sing on it. We accompanied one of the singers to find out how they get on. #Bregenz #Opera #MadameButterfly --------------------------- CREDITS Report: Gerhard Sonnleitner Camera: Rossi Krüger Edit: Manuela Reuss --------------------------------------------- Subscribe to DW Euromaxx: Would you like to find out more about Euromaxx? ▸Website: ▸Facebook: ▸Instagram: DW Euromaxx brings you engaging insights into European cultures and lifestyles.
