Bladeless Drone // Using 3D printed EDF and nozzle // first time in India
With 4 3D printed ducted fans, and some 3D printed tubes, I built a bladeless drone that I think is one of first time in India. It uses 4, 3D printed 90mm ducted fan propulsion units. we made this drone as our final year project. I bought all the electronics online and was able to design the drone so that it would operate with a opensource( I used SPF3 Deluxe) flight controller even though it doesn’t have vertically oriented propellers. With its top mesh installed its virtually impossible to get fingers and objects in contact with the blades. I think a drone like this could have industrial applications where a drone needs to operate close to people, objects, and in confined spaces to do inspection and other activities.
This drone main frame is made out of aluminum L section channel and acrylic sheet.
components list which I used in this drone.
- SP Racing F3 Deluxe FC
- sunnysky 2306 2700kv brushless motor ( )
- 55A 4in1 esc
- 3D printed parts like E
