Ballade Cruelle - Detlef Heusinger by Emma Wills

Ballade Cruelle (2003) is composed by Detlef Heusinger (1956, Germany). Heusinger composed this piece for solo guitar. He was inspired by ’’No te escaparás’’ (You can not escape) which is the 72th etching of Los Caprichos from Francisco Goya. Los caprichos are a set of 80 prints in aquatint and etching created by the Spanish artist Francisco Goya in 1797 and 1798, and published as an album in 1799. This ballade is dedicated to Jürgen Ruck. During an interview, Detlef Heusinger explained me about his composition process and about the different techniques that he uses throughout piece. Heusinger was a student of German composer Hans Werner Henze (1926-2012).
