This tutorial video explores the art of hollow cast plastic. Rotational molding, or rotocasting, is a quick and inexpensive way to reproduce an object in lightweight plastic. This video is the first in a series of tutorial videos I will be producing for this channel. I made rotocasting machine with metal I had around my shop and bearings, bushings, metal collars, sprockets, and gears from a local bearings supplier. The total cost of materials was around $300, and the project took about a weekend to produce. The mold is made from MDF and Smooth-On ReoFlex® 40 urethane rubber. The urethane plastic used in the video is Smooth-On Smooth-Cast® 65D. This video was produced by Jim Benedict for this YouTube Channel, BenedictClass.
