Banning irreversible surgery for young intersex people

The ACT has become the first jurisdiction in Australia to protect intersex people from unnecessary medical treatment without their consent. I was extremely proud to speak alongside my Greens colleagues in support of this bill. To Human Rights Austria, Equality Australia and A Gender Agenda, thank you so very much for your years of work and advocacy in this space. You’ve saved lives. The rest of Australia should now follow ACT’s lead and ensure protections for all intersex people.
