This is “Viva Sonyland“ (3-703-615-01), a special 1982 promotional tape given away by Sony with the purchase of a Sony Betamax deck and used to demonstrate the features of the Sony Betamax video tape system along with advertising other Sony products. “Viva Sonyland!“ tells the story of a young girl who’s parents just got a Sony Betamax system. Suddenly, a European-ish magician appears in her room and takes her on adventures through “Sonyland“ to show her how “Beta is better,“ how the Betamax system works, Sony’s factory, and other items that Sony was offering at the time. Enjoy this pseudo-educational and very weird demonstration tape!
