Sandy Powell (1931)

Titles read: ’Sandy Powell Varieties. “Sandy, M.P.“’ London (probably Pathe Studio). Various shots of comedian Sandy Powell, standing before a small table and making a speech as a politician. Men sitting around make comments, ask questions and cheer as he sets out his policies. He says if the working man’s wages are lowered the bookmakers will be the sufferers. He takes a drink from a glass and says “Euh, that’s water!“. He says there is only one man who went to Parliament with good intentions; the others ask who and he says Guy Fawkes. Then he starts to sing a song, ’Are You Going To Vote For Sandy?’ - the song says if he is elected he’ll give everyone free beer. Duplicate exists in Turns Can 15 - see separate record for details.
